Christopher Germer, PhD, is a Clinical Psychologist and Lecturer on Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He co-developed the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program with Dr. Kristin Neff in 2010. This program has been taught to over 200,000 people worldwide. His primary interest is the development of self-compassion, the warm-hearted attitude of mindfulness when we suffer, fail, or feel inadequate.
Dr. Germer is the author of the book, The Mindful Path to Self-Compassion. He and Dr. Neff also co-wrote The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook and Teaching the Mindful Self-Compassion Program. Kristin Neff, PhD, is a Psychology Researcher and Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. She has been recognized around the world as one of the most influential researchers in psychology. She is a pioneer in the field of self-compassion research, conducting the first empirical studies on self-compassion nearly twenty years ago. Along with her colleague Chris Germer, she developed the eight week Mindful Self-Compassion program, taught internationally.
Dr. Neff is the author of the bestselling book Self-Compassion and co-wrote The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook, with her colleague Chris Germer.
